About David J. Weed

David J. Weed~Broker, Owner

Being a Real Estate Broker/Realtor® and a Mortgage Banker/Broker was something that happened by natural progression, however Mortgage happened to me just two years after being a Realtor®. This business is my business and it’s something I’m very passionate about. Tears of joy and happiness are some of the best tears. Have my clients cried, absolutely. Has a client started crying and then I’ve joined right in, yep. It’s all part of the home buying process. Buying and selling real estate is emotional and is in the top 3 on the stress meter.

I grew up in a South Bay Area town called Almaden, then after my parent’s divorce, moved with my Mom and sisters to the North Shore Tahoe in 1978. My mom began work at a title company. I learned a little bit about the business, but I was only 15 years old. I finished high school and graduated in 1981. I studied Marketing and Communications in college and was transferred to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1987.

I worked in retail in 1987 and this older guy used to come in the store all the time. He was a real estate agent and always asked me, “Do you love what you do Dave? Jay became a good friend, one I’ll never forget. I ended up getting my real estate license within a year, 1988 was great. I was able to quit my other job and focus on real estate full time. About a year after I was licensed I began to work with a guy turned friend and now my mentor out of Orinda. One afternoon in 1989 he walked in and said,” We’re gonna start doing loans too”. Real Estate in 1989 was good, turned out the mortgage industry was good too.

I’ve now been in the two Business’ almost 30 years. I get a lot of questions from a lot of people. I see a lot of canned Mortgage and Real Estate content on the Web. It’s all these reasons and more as to why I’m starting this blog. I promise I’ll do my best to answer some of your questions and make those answers available to everyone.
